Caller-Collector
Classification:
Full time and Part-time, Non-Exempt
Primary Purpose of the Job:
The caller contacts debtors that owe monies to clients as assigned to them, making complete and concise notes on every contact with proper writing etiquette. They use the telephone to contact the debtor in a professional manner. If the call is successful, they attempt to collect the total amount due, make arrangements for repayment and update the account with the appropriate comments.
Essential Duties:
1. Makes outbound calls to attempt to contact debtors regarding outstanding monies
2. Takes payments over the phone and from walk in traffic and help debtors with questions
3. Minimum requirements include 80 to 100 collection calls per 3 hour shift
4. Keeps account managers updated with respect to debtors accounts
5. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the collections field
6. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
7. Gives collectors notice of disputed accounts
8. Gives collectors notice of employment, new address, request for statement or call back
9. Each collector will pass the FDCPA test
10. On every call, the collector will verify name, address^ employment and social security number
11. Each collector will take payments in the office, over the phone, or by debit/credit card
12. Works under general supervision
13. Bonus sheets and payment promise forms turned in at the end of each month

Required Experience:
1. Minimum 1 year of clerical or office experience

1. Communication skills: Verbal & Written (with Management, Co-workers, clients)
2. Computer skills and data entry
